Microwave Sensor Applications

CDQ Level Sensor (Horizontally Mounted Type)
MWS-24RF-CDQ-R

Unaffected by dust, vapor and flames!!
The MWS-24RF-CDQ-R Level Sensor is a FMCW type Microwave Level Sensor that consists of a controller, antenna, guidepipe and reflector designed for measuring the level of coke in the CDQ. The sensor is installed in the side of the CDQ and is used for monitoring the level, and extends the life of CDQ by controlling the level constantly. The small antenna size allows it to be installed with 100A size pipe and also to be installed horizontally in the side of the CDQ wall.

Features

  • Unaffected by heavy dust
The controller and antenna can be protected from heat because the guidepipe and reflector are installed inside the CDQ while the controller and antenna are installed outside the CDQ. Furthermore, the guidepipe and antenna are cooled by N2 purging.
  • This can measure during charging of the hot coke and indicate accurately the level-changing trend in the CDQ.
Stable measurement even when the surface of the coke is sloped.
Employs the rotary microwave technique: false measurements caused by double reflected waves are eliminated.
Due to the high S/N ratio, the sensor provides stable measurement even when the reflection from the target [coke] is very weak.
Using 24GHz enables sharper beam angles and smaller antennas. Therefore, it can be installed in a smaller-sized guidepipe.
Utilizes filters which eliminate spurious signals.
  • The operational state is shown on your personal computer
It displays an FFT spectrum, the received signal and various preset values.
The received signal, FFT spectrum and the trend measurement are continually displayed. This displayed data can be recorded and reviewed in real or accelerated time.
Use of the record and review function allows the system parameters to be optimized offline.
The display indicates and the controller outputs the internal temperature and any abnormal conditions (i.e. a lowering of received signal power, rising temperature in the controller and communication failures).
  • Convenient built-in functions
A reference point and the required range are easily preset.
Compatible for use with a personal computer.
    Free range power supply 90 ~ 240V, 50/60Hz.
Communicates with a Personal Computer by RS-232C.
    4-20mA, analogue output.
RS-422 digital output terminals (distance, receiving power level, temperature and alarm).
  • Comprehensive stand alone system
No additional hardware/software is needed as all signal processing is done in the controller.
